Joe Gaylord is the President of Chesapeake Associates, a political consulting firm.  He currently serves as a board member of The Gingrich Group.  Joe was the Senior Political Advisor to former Speaker Newt Gingrich.  In 1994, Gaylord was named Campaign Manager of the year by the American Association of Political Consultants, an award he shared with Gingrich for their successful campaign that captured control for the Republicans of the U.S. House of Representative for the first time in 40 years.

Joe authored the challenger candidate's handbook, Flying Upside Down.

Joe served as Executive Director of the National Republican Congressional Committee from 1982 until 1989.

During his six years at the Republican National Committee, Joe developed the RNC's Campaign Management College widely regarded as the best training center for candidate and campaign staff.

In addition to working with hundreds of campaigns in the United States, Joe has consulted and trained candidates in Brazil, Chile, Norway and Russia.
